by Cindy Gerard

2020

Someone To Believe In

by Cindy Gerard

2020

Back in the Legend Lake world, Gerard brings together another wounded heroine and the man who challenges her to trust again. It is a small-town, second-chance romance built on healing and belonging.

Series background & context

Legend Lake Trilogy is the later umbrella title for the romances Gerard first published as The Bride Wore Blue, A Bride for Abel Greene, and A Bride for Crimson Falls. In their reissued form, those books become Out Of The Blue, Leap Of Faith, and Someone To Believe In, but the emotional heart stays the same.

This is Gerard in small-town, north-woods mode. Legend Lake is not a backdrop you forget. The cabins, the woods, the quiet water, and the sense of distance from the rest of the world all shape the stories. People come here needing refuge, clarity, or a clean start. Instead, they find other people.

The trilogy connects through place and tone rather than a big external plot. These are books about women protecting their hearts, men who do not always know how to speak gently, and the slow work of trusting a little more than feels safe. There is a ruggedness to the romances, but also a lot of softness under it.

If you like second chances, found-family feeling, and a setting that makes emotional healing believable, Legend Lake Trilogy is a strong fit. It shows Gerard's gift for quieter contemporary romance without losing the heat or the push and pull.
