Author bio

Kimberly Rae Jordan writes contemporary Christian romance about ordinary people carrying real hurt, family history, and hope into the future. Her stories tend to stay close to home, even when the plots bring in suspense, medical crises, or long-buried secrets. What keeps readers coming back is the mix of warmth and weight. These are love stories, but they are also stories about faith, healing, and people learning how to trust again.

She spent much of her first eighteen years in Asia as the daughter of missionaries, with Canada always in the background as home.

That kind of childhood helps explain a lot. With limited access to television, she read widely and built stories in her head long before she published anything. She has said that reading Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke as a young teen was a turning point. It made her want more Christian romance, and before long it also made her want to write it.

She began writing in her twenties and spent years trying to find a path into publishing. At one point she even revised for an editor while aiming at the traditional inspirational romance market, but a contract never came. Then life got complicated, and for a stretch she had to set writing aside. When indie publishing opened up new possibilities, she finally had a way to share the kinds of stories she had been carrying around for years.

That long road shows in her fiction.

Jordan's books are usually easy to read and emotionally direct, but they are rarely flimsy. In Home Is Where the Heart Is, This Time with Love, and Guarding Her Heart, she builds romance out of family strain, old mistakes, and people who have to grow before love can last. Later books like A Love So Real and Gareth show the same strengths in newer settings and family networks. Readers who like connected series, recurring characters, and clean romance with a clear faith thread usually find a lot to enjoy here.

Family matters in almost everything she writes.

Her series often center on siblings, foster siblings, blended families, or tightly knit small towns where everyone seems to know everyone else. She returns again and again to themes of adoption, grief, second chances, forgiveness, and the slow rebuilding of trust. Even when a book leans more suspenseful, the emotional core is still about relationships. She also keeps her stories firmly on the wholesome side, with the emphasis on emotional and spiritual intimacy rather than spice.

These days she lives in Manitoba, Canada, and has described herself as a wife, mother, homeschooler, and voracious reader. Her current bio mentions three grown children and one younger teenage son. Outside of writing and reading, she enjoys dreaming about craft projects and the small, homey things that fit naturally with the world of her books. That tracks. Her fiction feels written by someone who knows that everyday life, with all its mess and mercy, is where love usually has to do its work.
