Keep Me Still Books in Order

The Keep Me Still books sit on the more emotional, more intimate end of Caisey Quinn's catalog. These are new adult romances, but they are not especially light ones. The first book centers on Layla Flaherty. After seeing her parents murdered, she is left with seizure-inducing PTSD and the constant sense that life can turn violent without warning. She leaves Hope Springs, Georgia, and heads to college in California hoping a new place will make it easier to breathe. Instead, she ends up face-to-face with Landen O'Brien, who notices her, stays when things get hard, and brings his own secrets into the story.

That setup tells you a lot about the series. The romance is real, but it is not built on fantasy perfection. Layla is not waiting for somebody to rescue her, and Landen is not some magical fix for what happened to her. The bond between them grows because he sees her clearly and does not bolt when her life stops looking easy. That makes the series feel more grounded than a lot of college romances.

Hold Us Close continues Layla and Landen's story years later, with the two of them in Spain and trying to build an actual life together. That matters because Quinn does not stop at the first happy ending beat. The novella asks what happens after the first rush, when old wounds still exist and new shocks can still knock a person sideways. It gives the series more depth than a simple boy-meets-girl campus arc.

Then Give Me You shifts to Corin Connelly and Skylar Martin, characters who circle Layla and Landen in the first book. Corin has escaped New York and a past she does not want following her to California. Skylar looks easier on the surface, rich, athletic, confident, but Quinn gives him his own weak spots and family damage. Their book runs on attraction, yes, but also on the fear that if you let someone see the whole truth, they may leave.

What ties the series together is tone. These books are tender, raw, and very character-first. There is college life, sports, friendship, and plenty of romantic tension, but the emotional stakes are always bigger than who kisses who. Keep Me Still is really about being seen when you would rather disappear. The rest of the series keeps returning to that idea, from different angles, with different kinds of scars.
