Author bio

Jennifer LeClaire is a Christian author, editor, and ministry leader whose work sits at the crossroads of prayer, prophecy, spiritual warfare, and daily devotional life. Long before she was leading prayer movements in Fort Lauderdale, she was known as a writer, someone who has often said she was happiest behind the keyboard, putting words to what she believed God was teaching her.

Writing came first. LeClaire built a career in journalism and later became the first female editor of Charisma magazine. That role placed her in the middle of a broad, fast-moving charismatic world and helped shape the plain, practical style many readers know from her books. Even when her subject is intense, she usually writes like someone trying to get to the point.

Her story took a sharp turn in jail.

LeClaire has shared openly that her life unraveled in painful ways before her ministry became public. She has written about being left to raise a young daughter on her own, living through severe financial strain, and spending 40 days in jail after what she describes as a false arrest during a domestic incident. She has also said that it was in jail that she became a Christian, a turning point that still sits near the center of how she understands calling, grace, and spiritual battle.

That experience never really leaves the page.

Again and again, her books return to themes of discernment, deliverance, prophetic integrity, and persistent prayer. In The Heart of the Prophetic and The Making of a Prophet, she writes about the weight of prophetic ministry, not just the excitement around it. In Did the Spirit of God Say That? she asks readers to test what they hear instead of swallowing every spiritual-sounding message whole. There is a steady concern in her work about deception, mixture, and the cost of getting spiritual authority wrong.

A different side of her writing shows up in Mornings With the Holy Spirit and Evenings With the Holy Spirit. Those books are quieter, built as daily companion pieces with brief readings, Scripture, and prayer. For many readers, they are the easiest doorway into her work. Others come to her through the more confrontational titles, books like The Spiritual Warrior's Guide to Defeating Jezebel, The Spiritual Warfare Battle Plan, and 101 Tactics for Spiritual Warfare, where she writes for Christians who feel embattled and want practical next steps.

She also spends a lot of time on dreams, seer experiences, and revival. Decoding Your Dreams, The Seer Dimensions, and Seer Activations all reflect her interest in how believers interpret spiritual experiences and learn discernment. The Next Great Move of God turns outward, toward awakening and national prayer, and shows another recurring thread in her work, the belief that private devotion and public revival belong together.

These days, LeClaire leads Awakening House of Prayer in Fort Lauderdale and oversees Awakening Prayer Hubs, a prayer movement with an international footprint. She has written dozens of books, some of which have been translated into other languages, and her work has also appeared in larger ministry resources such as The Spiritual Warfare Bible.

The through line is fairly clear. She is a writer who moved from journalism into ministry without ever really leaving writing behind.
