Jekyll & Hyde Inc takes one of Green's favorite approaches, grab a famous old idea and turn the volume up until it becomes its own kind of pulp chaos. Here the starting point is Robert Louis Stevenson's Jekyll and Hyde, treated not as fiction but as hidden truth. The result is a violent secret-history urban fantasy in which monster clans run the criminal underworld and the people fighting them are Hydes, superhuman enforcers powered by Dr. Jekyll's elixir.

Daniel Carter is the way in. He starts as a London cop who wants to do the right thing and gets shredded for his trouble during a raid that goes badly wrong. Broken, disbelieved, and angry, he is offered a second life through Jekyll & Hyde Inc. One drink later, Daniel is stronger, harder to kill, and recruited into a war he did not know existed.

His partner Tina Hyde is not subtle either.

The first book leans into the underworld idea hard. Vampires, werewolves, Frankenstein horrors, mummies, and other classic monsters are not distant legends here. They are clans, businesses, and criminal networks, each with its own power base and style of ugliness. Daniel and Tina are dropped straight into the middle of that structure and told to start breaking it.

What makes the series feel distinct from Green's other hidden-world books is the tone. It is less detective noir and more savage action movie, fast scenes, hard impacts, bad jokes, and a willingness to treat the old monsters as both ridiculous and dangerous. The second book pushes the concept even farther by widening the enemy list from monsters to aliens, which tells you a lot about how cheerfully excessive the series is prepared to be.

If you want careful realism, this is not the one. If you want a bruised ex-cop, a terrifying partner, criminal monsters, secret wars, and a story happy to jump from Gothic horror to invasion plot without asking permission, Jekyll & Hyde Inc delivers exactly that sort of energy.
