After their mother's death, Rufina and Rafa spend a final weekend in their childhood home. Hoping to keep her brother alive, Rufina proposes performing for tourists to fund an escape, while grief and family memories press upon them.

Jamie Figueroa examines growing up Puerto Rican in Ohio, her mother's assimilation and the losses carried across generations. Through marriage, motherhood and a return toward ancestral roots, she explores the cost of estrangement and the work of reclaiming identity.
