Series background & context
Interstellar Brides: The Virgins is a smaller, more focused spinoff in Grace Goodwin's Interstellar Brides universe. It leans into Everis, the world of Elite Hunters, marked mates, and a bond that can reach across distance, dreams, and danger.
The key word is marked.
The series begins with The Alien's Mate, co-written with Vanessa Vale, which works as a historical prequel set in the Montana Territory. Cassie Anderson is an orphaned woman on Earth, and Maddox of Everis comes to the primitive planet on a mission that turns personal fast. That mix of historical western and alien fated mate gives the spinoff a different flavor from the main Bride Program books.
The later entries move more fully into Everis and the Interstellar Brides structure. Claiming His Virgin, His Virgin Mate, His Virgin Bride, and His Virgin Princess center on women who are new to desire, new to alien rules, or both. The heroes are Everian hunters, trained to track danger and recognize the mate bond when it appears.
These books are usually more compact than the main series. They are good when you want the fated-mate intensity of Goodwin's universe without navigating every planet, warship, and political thread. The stakes still include enemies, missions, royal expectations, and cultural shock, but the romantic bond is the main engine.
The Everis pieces also connect nicely to later books like Hunted and Marked Mate, where Elite Hunters play larger roles in the wider Coalition setting. Reading The Virgins helps you understand why an Everian hero may trust a mark, a dream, or an instinct that looks impossible to everyone else.
Start with The Alien's Mate if you want the historical prequel. If you prefer to stay closer to the sci-fi core, begin with His Virgin Mate and then continue through the rest of the series.
