HORNET: Class Alpha Books in Order

Fragmented Loyalty opens with a different angle on the HORNET world. Instead of seasoned operators already deep in the work, HORNET: Class Alpha looks at the people trying to earn a place inside that secretive rescue organization.

The focus shifts younger here. The heroine, Samira Blackwood, is a brilliant hacker trying to outrun the mistakes and manipulation in her past. The hero, Eric Harvard Physick, is brilliant too, but he is also in a position of authority, which adds tension from the start.

That training-program setup gives the series a slightly different energy from the main HORNET books. There is still danger, still action, still the sense that bad people are circling. But there is also the feeling of recruits learning where they fit, what they are capable of, and whether they can trust the people beside them.

Technology matters more here. Hacking, surveillance, secrets, and hidden motives sit closer to the center of the plot, and the romantic tension is wrapped up in questions of loyalty and power as much as attraction.

Because this is a spinoff, longtime HORNET readers get the pleasure of seeing a familiar world from the edges rather than the center. New readers, though, can also treat it as a doorway into the larger Burrows universe, especially if they like clever characters and a more contemporary, tech-forward suspense setup.

If the main HORNET series is about battle-tested operatives, Class Alpha is about the making of the next wave. Start with Fragmented Loyalty if you want secrets, sparks, and a training class that goes very wrong.
