Their story brings French holiday traditions into a Scottish castle and asks whether a practical arrangement can become something warmer.

My Highland Rebel raises the stakes again. Lady Jyne Campbell finds purpose at Kinnoch Abbey, where she becomes involved in a fight to protect a vulnerable community. Cormac MacLean has been pushed by his warlord father to prove himself through conquest, although he would rather read, study alchemy, and avoid becoming the kind of man his father is. When he enters Jyne's rebellion, neither of them expects the other to complicate the conflict.

These romances use external danger to test what the characters value. Armies, raids, rival claims, and family demands matter, but the central tension comes from people deciding whether they can trust one another. The heroines are not waiting to be rescued. Marie has to reckon with the life chosen for her, Sabine refuses to be shuffled into another unwanted future, and Jyne takes responsibility when there is no easy answer.

The tone is adventurous and warm, with action, humor, and romance threaded through a rough medieval setting. The books can be enjoyed separately, but reading in order gives the clearest sense of the connected clans and recurring history.
