Hide and Seek is one of Sheridan Anne's newer dark romance projects, and it pushes hard into thriller territory. The duet follows Harper-Rayn, a forensic pathologist working in Blackstone's morgue, where death is supposed to stay quiet and predictable. Then the bodies start leaving her messages, and the line between professional horror and personal obsession disappears fast.

That is a strong hook, and Anne knows it.

The first book builds its tension around a masked stalker and a heroine who is both drawn in and terrified by the attention. Harper is not a sheltered character dropped into darkness by accident.
