Series background & context
The Hazards books are new adult contemporary romances with a playful, candid tone. They follow college-age characters as crushes, hookups, old friends, and questionable decisions turn into real emotional complications.
The first story, The Hazards of Skinny Dipping, makes its voice clear right away. Its heroine is not trying to tell a polished story about perfect first love. She is dealing with rash choices, an underwhelming dream guy, freshman-year chaos, and the possibility that the better match has been nearby all along.
Bad ideas have a habit of becoming important.
Later books use setups such as reconnecting with a high school crush, a rebound night on the beach, a mistletoe kiss, and a friendship that stops being only friendship. The books share a similar age group and sensibility but focus on different couples. Start with The Hazards of Skinny Dipping for the first college story, or read in order for the most complete run through the shared world and recurring connections.
