Series background & context

Set around Guilford Crossing, Texas, this series follows women whose lives keep colliding with danger, betrayal, and the Guilford family itself. Lily arrives after a painful upheaval. Freddie has spent years doing a man's work and wants to be seen as more than that. Alfie is hunted for something she did not do. Alex goes searching for her sister and lands in trouble of her own.

These books blend frontier romance with pursuit, false accusations, and strong family ties. Tanner gives each heroine a hard road, but she also makes room for warmth, loyalty, and the kind of hero who has to earn his place in a woman's life.

The setting matters here. Guilford Crossing feels like a place where everyone knows something, danger can ride in fast, and love rarely arrives under easy circumstances.
