Series background & context

This short western series follows three sisters, Emerald, Ruby, and Jade, after their father's careless boasting puts them in real danger. He talks about his jewels while drunk, and the wrong men decide to come looking for treasure. What follows is a scramble for safety, separation, and a very uncertain future.

Each book centers on one sister as she tries to stay ahead of trouble and make a new life in the West. The men they meet are not polished heroes. They are usually burdened, suspicious, or running from their own pasts. That gives the romance a guarded, slow-trust feeling even in these compact stories.

If you like western romances with family loyalty, outlaws, and women who refuse to give up, this is a good Margaret Tanner series to try.
