God's End Books in Order

The God's End trilogy is Michael McBride's supernatural apocalypse story. It begins with The Fall, as the world is pushed toward collapse and an old prophecy becomes terrifyingly real. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are no longer symbols or stories. They are forces moving through a world that is rapidly becoming unrecognizable.

At the center is a small, scattered group of survivors. Phoenix, a young man with an important role in the struggle ahead, is joined by people with very different skills and reasons to keep going, including an Army medic and a marine biologist. They are trying to find one another, make sense of what is happening, and reach a possible refuge while civilization breaks apart around them.

The scale is big, but the series stays close to its people.

Blizzard of Souls moves deeper into the aftermath. The survivors have reached a place where they can make a stand, but safety is fragile. They face the threat outside their defenses while exhaustion, fear, and disagreement begin to strain the group from within. McBride uses the ruined landscape and the harsh weather to keep the pressure on.

The final book, Trail of Blood, brings the journey toward its last confrontation. Victory in one battle has come at a steep cost, and the remaining survivors must cross a devastated country to face the forces that are still waiting for them. The series keeps its focus on what people are willing to sacrifice for one another when there may be no second chance.

This is not a quiet end-of-the-world story. It is fast, bleak, and full of movement, with religious imagery, survival horror, and action all working together. The Horsemen are a constant looming threat, but hunger, fatigue, grief, and mistrust can be just as dangerous.

Start with The Fall. It establishes the prophecy, the major characters, and the collapse of the world they know. Blizzard of Souls and Trail of Blood continue the same story directly, so the trilogy works best as one uninterrupted run rather than as separate adventures.
