Glacier Park Mystery Books in Order

The Glacier Park Mystery books are set in and around Glacier National Park, but they are not simple park whodunits. Christine Carbo uses the park, the nearby towns, and the people who work in that rough country as the engine of the series. Those books widen the series beyond a single lead and make it feel more like a connected community of investigators, officers, and locals.

By A Sharp Solitude, the focus shifts again, this time to FBI investigator Ali Paige and her troubled connection to Reeve Landon, a reclusive researcher who becomes the prime suspect after a journalist is murdered near Glacier. That change in viewpoint is part of what makes the series work. Carbo keeps returning to the same region, but she does not keep telling the same book. Different jobs, different histories, and different family complications give each mystery its own shape, even while the park and surrounding communities hold the whole thing together.

These are mysteries, but they lean hard into character.

Across the series, expect careful investigations, uneasy local dynamics, and people trying to do decent work while carrying a lot of private damage. The tone is more suspenseful than cozy. There are recurring characters and emotional threads, but each novel has its own case and can be read on its own. Still, reading from The Wild Inside forward gives you the fullest picture of how Monty, Ted, Gretchen, Ali, and the wider Glacier world fit together.
