Series background & context
This series is built around one very good hook, a private London club called Temptation, where masks, anonymity, and reputation all do serious work. That setup gives the books a slightly steamier, more secretive feel than some of Vayden's other Regency romances. These are still love stories first, but they are love stories with locked doors, false names, and social disaster waiting just offstage.
Falling from His Grace opens the trilogy with Lucas Mayfield, Earl of Heightford, and a club designed to protect everyone's identity. That arrangement works fine until Liliah Durary turns up in disguise, looking for experience and control in a life where her choices are being narrowed by her father. Their story sets the tone for the whole series, desire colliding with social danger, and attraction becoming much more complicated once the masks come off.
In Escaping His Grace, the world gets wider. Lady Samantha Chatterworth has run from a forced marriage and is hiding in Scotland under a false name, while Heathcliff Marston is juggling the management of Temptation and troubles of his own. The book keeps the series' love of secrecy and scandal, but it adds a country estate and a governess setup, which gives it a softer, more domestic side without losing the tension.
The Temptation of Grace closes the arc by bringing Temptation back to the center. Grace Morgan is innocent enough to be at risk and bold enough to step where she should not, and Ramsey Scott is exactly the wrong man to stand guard over her. Or the right one, depending on how much you enjoy a slow burn built on friendship, restraint, and one man trying very hard not to want what is already slipping through his fingers.
The club is the thread.
What makes the trilogy work is the way each book plays with the same ideas from a new angle, reputation, privacy, desire, and the difference between how people appear in society and who they are when nobody is supposed to be looking. If you like Regency romance with a little more heat, secret identity trouble, and a recurring setting that actually matters, this is one of Vayden's clearest series hooks.
