Series background & context
Galaxy's Edge: Tyrus Rechs: Contracts & Terminations follows one of the most important figures in the Galaxy's Edge universe away from the main campaign. Tyrus Rechs is a bounty hunter, a survivor, a legend, and a man with more history behind him than most people around him could imagine. These stories use contracts and manhunts to reveal pieces of that past.
The line starts with Requiem for Medusa and continues through books such as Chasing the Dragon, Madame Guillotine, Mephisto's Game, Uncommon Valor, and Escape from Red Eye. Each job has its own target or crisis, but the larger draw is Rechs himself. He knows too much, has lived too long, and carries the kind of weariness that comes from seeing the galaxy repeat its mistakes.
He is not just a hired gun.
The series works as a rougher, more wandering companion to the main Galaxy's Edge books. Instead of staying with the Legion or the Republic's big political collapse, it follows a man who can move through criminal worlds, frontier trouble, secret history, and old grudges. A contract may begin as a payday, but it often ends up touching something larger.
The tone is part space western, part military sci-fi, part hard-boiled job story. Rechs can be brutal, funny, patient, and impossible to intimidate. The stories give readers shootouts and pursuit, but also context for why people in the wider universe talk about him with fear or awe. His presence connects small crimes to very old wars.
For reading order, start with Requiem for Medusa. These books are side stories, but they are not throwaway extras. They add depth to Rechs, the Savages, and the history behind the Republic and Legion. Readers who like dangerous professionals, bounty work, and old secrets will feel at home here.
This line is also one of the better places to see Galaxy's Edge from the edges rather than the command center. Rechs meets the galaxy in bars, backwaters, bad deals, and kill zones. Through him, the universe feels older, meaner, and full of people who remember the parts others buried.
