Series background & context
From Grace is one of Kris Norris's clearest blends of fantasy, paranormal romance, and larger-scale conflict. The series starts with Gabriel, where a failed spell brings an angel into demon Kei's life, and continues with Michael, which shifts attention to the archangel Michael and the fae prince Greyson.
The big hook is the mix of intimate romance and looming disaster. These books have angels, demons, fae courts, soul bonds, and the threat of something apocalyptic on the horizon, but they never lose sight of the people at the center. Love is not an escape from duty here. It complicates duty, tests it, and sometimes becomes the thing that forces the characters to finally make a choice.
The tone is dramatic but still emotional first. Norris is interested in characters who have spent a long time defining themselves by responsibility, power, or damage, then suddenly have to reckon with tenderness. That makes the series feel bigger than a simple good-versus-evil setup. The danger matters, but so does who gets to be loved and who thinks they deserve it.
If you like queer paranormal romance with strong mythic elements and a real sense of momentum, From Grace is a very good place to look. It is one of her more openly supernatural series, and one of her most character-driven.
