Flash Bang

by Meghan March

2014

When a plane crashes into downtown Chicago and the power grid fails, attorney Rowan Callahan flees the collapsing city toward her family’s rural farm. Injured and alone, she’s rescued by two former Marines who take her to their fortified compound, where survival, desire, and trust collide in a high‑heat, post‑apocalyptic ménage romance.

Series background & context

The Flash Bang series asks what happens when the lights go out for good and the only safe place left is a remote survival compound guarded by former Marines.

The first book, Flash Bang, opens on Rowan Callahan, a driven attorney whose life implodes twice in quick succession. First, false rumors wreck her career. Then a plane crashes into downtown Chicago, the power grid fails, and the city descends into chaos. With a backpack of supplies and a plan to reach her family’s rural property, Rowan heads out of the city on foot, only to run straight into the crosshairs of two heavily armed strangers.

Graham and Zach are former Force Recon Marines who helped build Castle Creek Whitetail Ranch into a doomsday‑ready sanctuary long before the first explosion. They are wary, dangerous, and very clear about their priorities, protect their people and keep the compound secure. Taking in a civilian, especially one who stirs up protective and very unprofessional heat, is not part of the plan.

As Rowan recovers at the ranch and faces the reality that the old world is gone, the story balances survival logistics with an intense, consensual MFM romance. Food, security, and trust are scarce commodities, and the emotional stakes rise alongside the physical ones. Rowan has to decide whether she can share herself with two men who have already built an unshakable brotherhood, and all three of them have to rethink what family looks like when the usual rules no longer apply.

Hard Charger, a follow‑up novella, stays in the same world but shifts the focus to Lia, another survivor still struggling with trauma nine months after the blackout. Her journey with Cam and Travis, two more former Marines, explores healing, desire, and the possibility of choosing a future that looks nothing like the life she lost.

Throughout the series, expect high heat, found‑family dynamics, and a steady tension between the harshness of a post‑apocalyptic landscape and the tenderness that grows inside this fortified, very human refuge.
