Fire Witches of Salem Books in Order

Fire Witches of Salem is one of Carrie Pulkinen's biggest and most clearly serial worlds. It takes the author's usual mix of romance and supernatural trouble and pushes it further into urban fantasy. The Holland sisters are elemental witches, descended from a bloodline that could not burn, and their job is to help protect Salem from what slips through the thinning veil between worlds.

That would already be enough to deal with, but the series adds a curse hanging over the family and a set of demon princes who are both dangerous and, very inconveniently, attractive. The first trilogy begins with Chaos and Ash, where Ash Holland accidentally ends up with the Prince of Hell inside her head. From there, Commanding Chaos and Claiming Chaos turn that initial disaster into a larger fight involving coven survival, ripped-open magic, and the question of whether love can survive when the world is trying to crack apart.

The second trilogy shifts the center of gravity to Ember. In Mayhem and Ember, Mending Mayhem, and Mastering Mayhem, she is pushed into leadership before she feels ready and has to deal with another demon prince, another possible soulmate, and a growing crisis that threatens far more than her own future. If the first three books are about discovering how deep the curse goes, the next three are about what it will actually cost to break it.

This is where Pulkinen leans hardest into urban fantasy.

The romance is still important, but it is slower and more entangled with the larger plot than in some of her lighter series. Monsters break through rifts. Covens have rules, roles, and history. Sisters matter as much as lovers. The danger is not contained to one haunted house or one bad date. It spreads. That makes the books feel bigger, and it also makes reading them in order more important.

At the same time, the series never loses Pulkinen's voice. The heroines are sharp, the banter still lands, and the demon princes are written with just enough swagger to keep things fun even when the stakes get grim. There is action, magical chaos, and a lot of tension between order and disaster, duty and desire, family loyalty and personal choice.

If you want the version of Carrie Pulkinen that goes deepest into curses, sisterhood, demon politics, and world-ending magical fallout, Fire Witches of Salem is the place to start. It still delivers romance, but it does so inside a longer story that asks you to stick around and watch the whole fire spread.
