Series background & context

The Fighting series is where Nikki Ash's backlist really starts to take shape. These are contemporary romances built around MMA fighters, but the hooks are broader than the sport. Secret babies, secret pregnancies, found family, single parents, grief, and second chances are all baked into this world from the start.

Each book follows a different couple, but the shared setting matters. The fighters know each other. Their families overlap. The friendships and history carry forward from one book to the next, which gives the whole series a cozy sense of continuity even when the emotions get heavy.

This is early Nikki Ash in a nutshell.

Fighting for a Second Chance opens with a brief, intense connection that leaves bigger consequences behind than either character expects. Fighting With Faith leans into soulmates, doubt, and secret pregnancy. Fighting for Your Touch gives the series one of its more wounded heroes, while Fighting for Your Love mixes friendship, grief, and a single mom heroine who has learned not to depend on anyone. Then Fighting 'Round the Christmas Tree circles back to the whole crew for a holiday check-in.

What makes the series easy to keep reading is the balance. The books have the heat and emotional immediacy romance readers come for, but they also care about everyday details, children, jobs, trust, old wounds, and the ways people keep showing up for each other. The MMA backdrop adds energy and discipline, but the real draw is the community around it.

The tone is earnest, fast-moving, and openly emotional. These characters love hard, fight hard, and make plenty of mistakes on the way to their happy endings. If you like sports romance that still feels domestic in the best sense, with babies, best friends, and group scenes that make the world feel lived in, this is a strong place to begin with Nikki Ash.

Start at the beginning with Fighting for a Second Chance. Even though the romances are self-contained, the friend group grows better and richer as you go.
