Series background & context

The Falcon Securities books are Geri Foster's straightest line into action-romance suspense. The series revolves around a covert private agency run by Frank Hamilton, a man with deep intelligence ties and the kind of reach that pulls his team into missions nobody else can touch. These are not desk jobs. The agents get sent into kidnappings, cartel fights, terrorist plots, assassinations, and cross-border operations where one bad decision can ruin everything.

At the center of the series is the team itself.

Each book usually shifts the spotlight to a different Falcon agent, so the structure feels both familiar and fresh. In Out of the Dark, Mac McKinsey is stranded in Russia and forced to run with attorney Emily Richards. Out of the Shadows throws Brody Hawke together with CIA agent Kate Stone during a rescue mission gone sideways. Later books like Out of the Night, Out Of The Past, Out of the Blue, and Out of the Abyss keep widening the world while still anchoring the story in one couple at a time.

That is the key thing to expect here. The missions matter, but the emotional engine is always the relationship. Foster likes capable, stubborn people who do not make falling in love easy. Her heroes are often trained operatives carrying old scars, guilt, or exhaustion. Her heroines are rarely passive. They are attorneys, agents, nurses, or women already caught in dangerous situations who have good reasons not to trust the man trying to protect them.

The books move fast, and they tend to start with trouble already in motion. A mission fails. Someone is kidnapped. A prisoner escapes. A cartel retaliates. A trafficker slips loose. That constant pressure gives the romance a tight, trapped feeling that works well for readers who like sparks flying while the danger keeps climbing.

There is also a strong team feel running through the series. Even when a novel is focused on one couple, the agency is still there in the background, with returning characters, shared history, and the sense that everybody is part of a larger operation. You can read many of the books as standalones, but reading them in order gives the agency more shape and makes the recurring faces more satisfying.

If you want romantic suspense with globe-hopping danger, protective heroes, competent heroines, and just enough series continuity to reward reading on, Falcon Securities is a good place to start. It is the part of Foster's work where the explosions, secrets, and emotional walls all show up at once.
