The ExorSquad series brings ghost hunting, messy feelings, and paranormal trouble into the shape of romantic comedy. It centers on the employees of ExorSquad Ltd., a ghost-removal operation with a questionable reputation and jobs that are clearly more dangerous than the company would like to admit.

The books are planned as standalone male/male romances. Each story follows people caught up in hauntings, supernatural problems, and the awkward business of letting someone else matter to them. How I Met Your Murderer introduces Rafferty O’Meara, a former hurling star whose career ended after an injury. Six months into working for ExorSquad, he is still trying to find his footing when he is sent to Ardruin Castle in the West Kerry village of Ballycorven. The assignment sounds simple enough on paper: get the castle’s ghosts under control before its grand opening as a medieval-themed dining attraction.

Ardruin has a long, bloody history, with centuries of fires, poisonings, plague, and unexplained deaths behind it. That makes a reliable ghost count impossible. Raff’s biggest complication is Eric James Crawford, an American tourist who is now very much a ghost, very much chaotic, and tied to a mystery around how he died.

As Raff and Eric try to untangle that mystery, they are not dealing only with a haunted castle. Something old and powerful may be behind the trouble, and it has an interest in Raff that is far from harmless. The danger gives the romance a real engine: Raff needs answers quickly, but Eric’s death, the castle’s history, and the growing pull between them make a clean solution unlikely.

The series uses Ireland and the United Kingdom’s ghost-story landscape as a backdrop for supernatural workplace chaos. A job may begin with an allegedly routine haunting and turn into a question of survival, trust, or unfinished business. The premise leaves room for different haunted locations and different ExorSquad employees while keeping the same core mix of fright and fun.

Expect paranormal romcom rather than straight horror. There are threatening entities, haunted buildings, and murder mysteries, but the emphasis is also on connection. These are stories about people who may be bruised, skeptical, unlucky, or literally dead, finding someone who sees them clearly anyway.

For readers, the appeal is the combination: spooky cases, a shady ghost-busting employer, and romances that have to make it through the haunting first.
