The central figure is Eva Delacourt, a former assassin who has been in hiding for three years after her fiancé was murdered outside the British embassy in Prague. When the series opens, she is not looking for adventure. She is trying to stay alive, stay hidden, and protect the six-year-old boy she loves.

Assassins Rogue then carries Eva forward into a fresh mission involving an injured pilot, looming conflict in the Middle East, and enemies operating inside the upper levels of government.

These books move quickly.

They have safe houses, ambushes, covert networks, hidden agendas, and the feeling that nobody is fully telling the truth. But what keeps them interesting is Eva herself. She is not a copy of Dan Taylor in a different coat. Her stories feel sharper at the edges, more distrustful, and more emotionally exposed. She has the skills to fight back, but the danger is never abstract because the cost of failure is always close to her.

If you enjoy espionage fiction with a female lead, a strong through-line of betrayal, and a pace that barely stops to catch its breath, this series is easy to click with. Read the first three episodes in order if you want the original serial experience, or start with the republished Assassins Hunted and move to Assassins Rogue.
