Series background & context

Elliot Security is Evie Mitchell’s romantic-suspense series about former military men working as bodyguards and the women whose safety becomes their responsibility. The books pair immediate attraction with external danger, giving the romances a more action-driven feel than Mitchell’s lighter small-town stories.

The setup is simple and effective. A client needs protection, a trained professional is assigned to stay close, and the boundaries of the job get harder to keep once trust and desire enter the picture.

Safety is never just paperwork here.

The series begins with Rough Edge and continues with Bleeding Edge. Each installment focuses on its own couple and threat while keeping Elliot Security’s world of close-knit colleagues, security planning, and protective instincts in view.

The heroes are capable and watchful, but the women at the center of these books are not passive passengers in their own stories. They have careers, opinions, and reasons to resist being managed, even when the danger is real. That tension gives the romances their push and pull.

Readers should expect adult heat, emotional stakes, and a faster pace than a quiet small-town rom-com. The books work as connected standalones, though beginning with Rough Edge offers the best introduction to the firm and its people.
