Dragons vs. Drones Books in Order

The Dragons vs. Drones books bring together two things that do not usually share the same battlefield: ancient dragon magic and advanced surveillance technology. The result is a middle-grade adventure set partly on Earth and partly in Dracone, an alternate realm where humans and dragons have a long, troubled history.

The story starts with Marcus Brimley, a young computer genius whose father, a CIA analyst, disappeared years earlier and was blamed for betrayal. Marcus has never accepted that version of events. While searching for clues that could clear his father's name, he cracks a code that sends him through a storm and into Dracone. Government drones follow him there, turning his private search into a much larger emergency.

Dracone is already close to breaking apart.

Marcus meets Dree, a twelve-year-old girl from a dragon-riding family. She explains that the realm's prime minister has helped turn humans and dragons against each other. Dragons are hunted, dragon riders have been pushed aside, and the arrival of the drones threatens everybody, no matter which side they are on. Marcus and Dree have to work across those old divisions before a war destroys Dracone.

The first book, Dragons vs. Drones, is built around discovery and escape. Marcus is learning what happened to his father, what Dracone is, and why the machines pursuing him are so dangerous. Dree brings local knowledge, courage, and a personal stake in protecting the dragons. Their partnership gives the story its center as codes, flying machines, magical creatures, and political conflict collide.

In Enemy of the Realm, the fight becomes a quest. Marcus returns to Earth with Dree and George, hoping to find the Flames' ancient Egg, an object whose dragon magic may help Dracone resist the growing drone army. Getting it is not easy, and events on Earth add another obstacle. Back in Dracone, rebel groups and dragons must decide whether they can really work together.

The series is about alliances as much as it is about dragons.

Readers can expect a quick-moving mix of fantasy adventure and science fiction. There are chases, riddles, hidden histories, and large-scale battles, but the books also ask what happens when fear makes people treat their neighbors as enemies. Marcus is not a traditional sword-and-shield hero, and his skill with technology matters as much as bravery in a fight.

Start with Dragons vs. Drones. It introduces Marcus, Dree, the realm of Dracone, and the conflict between dragons and machines. Enemy of the Realm follows directly from that ending, so it works best as the second half of the adventure.
