Series background & context

Cupid Inc puts a comic supernatural spin on the business of making people fall in love. The series follows Samara, a cupid who has made a serious mistake with her work figures and is sent back to training school to prove she can create genuine matches rather than simply chase targets.

Crazy, Stupid, Lazy, Cupid introduces Samara's problem. Her professional standing is in trouble, and her route back depends on making real love connections. That would be challenging enough without the personal complication that her husband, Johnny, has been turned into a whippet until she can prove herself. Training school has rules, pets are not allowed, and Samara is not exactly arriving with a simple case.

Love cannot always be reduced to statistics.

The first story treats cupid work as a mixture of office pressure, magical bureaucracy, and romantic matchmaking. Samara has to contend with school, expectations, jealous or obstructive people, and the basic fact that she cannot force someone into a meaningful relationship. Her story has a light, playful voice, but its central question is sincere: what makes a match real?

The second book, Cupid and Psych, continues the world and brings relationship problems into focus again. Material from the Cupid Inc stories was later revised and expanded as part of the Supernatural Dating Agency series, where Samara's work connects with Shelley Linley's matchmaking business in Withernsea.

That overlap is useful for readers. Cupid Inc can be read as its own short paranormal-romance sequence, especially for anyone drawn to Samara's point of view and the magical workplace setup. Readers who want to see more of the characters can then move into Acting Cupid and Cupid Fools in the Supernatural Dating Agency books.

Start with Crazy, Stupid, Lazy, Cupid. It explains Samara's probation, her unusual home life, and the rules of the cupid world. Expect a warm paranormal rom-com with an overworked heroine, magical red tape, relationship mistakes, and the stubborn idea that love needs more than a successful monthly report.
