Series background & context

At the center of the Cupcake Café books is Issy Randall, a London woman whose life takes a sharp left turn when work and love both wobble at once. Baking is the one thing she can control, and it turns into a way back to herself.

In Meet Me at the Cupcake Café, Issy finds a job in a small cupcake shop and starts learning what it really takes to keep a food business alive. There are early mornings, cramped kitchens, and the kind of friendships that form when you are exhausted together.

Then the feelings get complicated.

Christmas at the Cupcake Café picks up with bigger ambitions and the extra pressure that comes with the holiday rush. Issy has to balance what she wants for the shop with what she wants for her life, and those two things do not always line up.

Across the series, the tone stays warm and funny, with plenty of cake, a little chaos, and a lot of second chances.
