Series background & context

Code Name Stargate is a romantic suspense series about former CIA agents who were trained in a secret program and given code names such as Ace, Fox, Yankee, Tiger, and Hawk. Their unusual advantage is precognition: each can experience visions that hint at danger before it happens.

That gift made them valuable. It also made them targets.

The agents were once part of an off-the-books operation so secret that even much of the CIA did not know it existed. Betrayal scattered the group and left its members unable to trust the institutions that trained them, or sometimes one another. When their visions begin pointing toward linked threats, they have to reconnect and work out who has been manipulating events from the shadows.

The series balances conspiracy plotting with romance. Each book gives one agent a central relationship, often with a woman who is drawn into the danger and has her own reason not to accept easy answers. The attraction is immediate, but trust has to be earned because these characters are used to running, hiding, and expecting betrayal.

The danger keeps getting more personal.

Across the books, recurring premonitions suggest a larger conspiracy shaped by power, greed, revenge, and the possibility of a major disaster. The agents must decide whether their visions can be changed or merely reveal an unavoidable future. Their training provides skills, but it cannot solve every emotional problem or protect the people they come to love.

Expect CIA history, surveillance, false identities, chase scenes, hidden enemies, and protective heroes. The books have an ongoing arc, so the best route is to begin with Ace on the Run and continue in order through the rest of the team.
