Claimed By Lucifer is a paranormal romance series that starts with one desperate bargain and then keeps widening into something much bigger. At first, the setup is simple and juicy. A woman needs help in Las Vegas, and the only man powerful enough to give it is Lucas Ifer, billionaire, king of Sin City, and, inconveniently, Lucifer himself.

That is only the beginning.

The main heroine, Hannah, is pulled into Lucifer's orbit when she makes a deal to find her missing best friend. What follows is part underworld romance, part myth-inspired fantasy, and part end-of-the-world family drama. Briggs plays with Hades and Persephone energy here, but she folds it into a world of angels, demons, reincarnation, curses, and old cosmic grudges. The first three books follow Hannah and Lucifer as they untangle a bond that turns out to stretch across lifetimes.

A lot of the series' appeal comes from that mix of intimacy and scale. On one level, it is about whether Hannah can trust the devil, whether Lucifer can change, and whether love is enough to survive everything the two of them have done to each other across time. On another, it becomes a fight over Heaven, Hell, family loyalty, and the apocalypse itself. The Four Horsemen enter the picture. Ancient enemies come out of hiding. Suddenly the romance is sitting inside a much larger supernatural war.

The setting shifts in fun ways too. Las Vegas matters, because the early books lean into modern glamour, dark temptation, and the idea that Lucifer would absolutely thrive as a powerful businessman in a city built on desire and excess. But the story also reaches into heavenly politics, infernal power struggles, and later, in Death Lord, a darker New Orleans flavored corner of the same universe.

That fourth book is worth noting because it changes perspective. While the trilogy centers on Hannah and Lucifer, Death Lord turns to Belial, Lucifer's son, and gives him his own enemies-to-lovers arc. It still belongs to the same world, but it feels like a side path that expands the family rather than continuing the exact same storyline.

The tone across the series is dark, steamy, and high stakes, but it is still very romance-forward. Briggs is interested in dangerous attraction, cursed devotion, and men who are more monstrous than they first appear, but she also likes giving those stories a strong emotional spine. If you want urban fantasy romance with mythic echoes, possessive chemistry, and a devil who is both the problem and the temptation, Claimed By Lucifer is very easy to sink into.
