Author bio
Christopher Greyson grew up in the United States with his nose in books and his mind on puzzles. As a kid he was always wondering what might be hiding around the next corner, or what quest might be waiting over the next hill, and that urge to explore never really went away.
Some of his first and strongest memories of storytelling come from his grandfather, a decorated World War I veteran, and the pilot friend who had flown in the same skies as the infamous Red Baron. Listening to those men trade stories showed him how memory, adventure, and fear can be woven into something you carry for life.
In school he followed his curiosity rather than a straight line, earning degrees in Computer Science, Theatre, and Communications. That mix of technical training and performance work shows up all through his writing. He cares about how things work, he hears dialogue in his head, and he likes putting ordinary people under a bright spotlight to see what they will do.
Before publishing fiction, Greyson spent years chasing creative dreams on stage and in dance studios. A serious knee injury ended that path and led to a difficult season that included addiction to painkillers, alcohol, and several failed attempts at rehab. Eventually he chose a quieter life focused on staying sober and supporting his family, and for a long time the idea of writing novels went back on the shelf.
The turning point came when his wife, Katherine, asked for help with a book of her own. That nudge brought him back to the stories he had always wanted to tell. Working nights and weekends around two jobs and two kids, he wrote Pure of Heart and then Girl Jacked, the first full length Jack Stratton mystery, publishing the latter on a shoestring budget. Word of mouth slowly turned those early efforts into a real career.
Today his bibliography stretches across several series and genres. The Jack Stratton novels follow a damaged but decent cop through cold cases, mob wars, and family secrets. Psychological thrillers like The Girl Who Lived and The Girl Who Lived 2 dig into trauma and unreliable memory. The mini mysteries of The Adventures of Finn and Annie offer gentler cases with a wounded veteran and a deaf videographer at the center, while the Dark books push into full post apocalyptic horror. He has also moved into international action with the Kiku Yakuza Assassin trilogy and co wrote the legal thriller The Color of Death with former prosecutor Trey Gowdy.
Across all of those very different stories, certain threads repeat. Greyson likes characters who have been knocked down hard and are still trying to do the right thing. He writes about found families, second chances, and the way humor can surface even in the worst situations. His villains are often frightening, but the real tension comes from watching ordinary people decide how far they will go for the people they love.
Greyson lives in the United States with his wife Katherine, who writes romantic suspense, and their two children. When he is not at the keyboard, he enjoys martial arts, woodworking, and talking with readers about favorite characters and wild what if scenarios. Writing, for him, is still that childhood feeling of being handed a new adventure and inviting someone else to come along for the ride.
