Celestial Cataclysms Books in Order

Celestial Cataclysms is a larger, later story set in the same world as A Thousand Li. If that earlier series is about the climb, this one is about what happens after the climb opens into something even bigger. Wu Ying has ascended, but reaching immortality does not simplify his life. It multiplies it.

That shift is the whole appeal.

The series widens the lens beyond one cultivator's growth and starts working across the heavens, the Middle Kingdom, and demonic realms. Immortal Connections makes it clear that ascension is not an ending. Wu Ying's old promises still matter, his ties to people below still matter, and the structures of the immortal world are every bit as political, rigid, and unstable as anything he left behind.

This is a more sprawling series than A Thousand Li, with a bigger cast and multiple threads moving at once. That means readers should expect less of a single road-trip progression feel and more of an epic fantasy shape, different locations, different pressures, and a lot more attention to how the three realms affect one another.

Still, Wong keeps the emotional through line close. Power is larger here, but so are the consequences. Immortality brings scale, not peace.
