Series background & context

Carolina Hearts is not a brand-new romance world so much as a new way into one. These books repackage Melody Grace's North Carolina coastal stories into paired volumes, bringing together connected Beachwood Bay romances in bigger, binge-friendly editions. If you've ever wanted to read more of that world at once, this is basically the tidy boxset version.

Think of it as a remix, not a reboot.

The setting is still the same emotional shoreline readers know from Beachwood Bay: small-town North Carolina, beach houses full of memories, family mess, old crushes, and people trying very hard not to fall for exactly the wrong person. The difference is in the format. Instead of following the original single-title release pattern, Carolina Hearts gathers those stories into six larger books.

That structure works especially well because many of the romances already come in natural pairs. Emerson and Juliet's relationship begins in one story and deepens in the next. Brit and Hunter follow a similar shape. Other volumes collect linked romances that share characters, family ties, or the same emotional corner of the series. So even when a boxset moves from one couple to another, it still feels connected.

The overall mood stays true to Grace's early romance style: steamy, emotional, and full of people who look confident on the outside but are usually carrying more hurt than they want to admit. There are bad boys, guarded heroines, family expectations, painful histories, rock-star complications, holiday detours, and a lot of second chances. Carolina Hearts keeps all of that. It just presents the material in a fuller, more gathered form.

One nice thing about this setup is that it makes the North Carolina world feel even more continuous. When the stories are read in pairs, you can really see how the themes echo across them, love after loss, learning to trust, getting honest about what you want, and deciding whether home is a place you return to or a life you build with someone else. The beach-town setting ties it all together.

For new readers, Carolina Hearts can be an easy entry point. For returning readers, it's a convenient revisit. Either way, the appeal is the same: big feelings, strong chemistry, and interconnected coastal romances that move quickly but still leave room for the characters to heal. If Beachwood Bay is the original road map, Carolina Hearts is the collected scenic route.
