Author bio
Callie Rhodes writes paranormal romance that likes danger, borders, and the moment a woman realizes the world has lied to her. Her books are full of alpha heroes, fated bonds, and fast-moving setups that drop ordinary people into situations that turn their lives inside out.
She has said that imagination got her into trouble from an early age.
That detail makes a lot of sense once you look at the stories she tells. In her author bio, Rhodes describes daydreaming about far-off worlds in class, then later escaping into made-up stories in meeting rooms as an adult. Eventually, that habit stopped being a distraction and became the work itself. She now lives among the tall trees of Northern California and has built a writing career out of the kinds of fantasies she once carried around in her head.
Her published work took off in 2020 with Kian, the first book in The Boundarylands. That series set the tone for much of what followed, a dystopian omegaverse world where the wilderness belongs to alphas, the so-called civilized world fears them, and women are taught that crossing the border could ruin their lives. Rhodes followed that opener quickly with books like Ty, Samson, and many more, turning the setting into a long, connected run of romances that share a world even when each book focuses on a new couple.
She writes quickly, and her fictional worlds tend to grow sideways as much as forward.
That is one reason readers who click with her style often stay for a while. The Boundarylands grows into The Unchained Omegaverse, a darker spin-off that follows escaped alphas trying to survive after imprisonment and experimentation. Books like Ransom, Archer, Bronn, and Hunter keep the intense mating-bond energy of the earlier series, but add more pursuit, revenge, and political conflict. The romances are still front and center, but the surrounding world gets bigger and meaner.
Rhodes has also shown that she likes testing how far her core ideas can stretch. With Beneath A Rogue Moon and Beyond The Shattered Veil, she moved into a more fantasy-driven setup built around magic, beast clans, and a broken barrier between worlds. Then, with Tauren and Kyre, she opened The Wilds, another feral romance world that leans harder into dream bonds, claws, fangs, and the pull of destiny.
Across all of these books, certain patterns keep showing up. Her heroes are often protective, possessive, wounded, or half-feral. Her heroines are usually pushed into impossible choices, then forced to sort out which fears are real and which were planted in them. Captivity, escape, secrecy, propaganda, survival, and instinct all come up again and again. So does the idea that desire can expose the truth faster than rules ever could.
Her books also tend to be direct. Readers usually come to Rhodes for quick momentum, strong chemistry, and a world that wastes very little time getting to the trouble. Even when the setting shifts from borderland dystopia to fantasy forest, the emotional engine stays familiar, danger outside, heat inside, and two people trying to decide whether the bond between them is a trap or a way through.
Publicly, Rhodes keeps the focus on the books more than on a big personal mythology. What comes through most clearly is the writing life she has made for herself in Northern California, and the fact that she keeps finding new corners of romance, fantasy, and omegaverse storytelling to explore.
