Bridge and Sword Books in Order

Bridge and Sword is one of JC Andrijeski's biggest story worlds, and it earns that reputation fast. The setup is an alternate version of Earth where humans live alongside another race called seers, psychic beings who are feared, exploited, and folded into politics, religion, war, and underground power structures. Into that already unstable world steps Allie Taylor, who thinks she understands her life until she learns almost everything important about it is wrong.

She is not ordinary. Not even close.

The series follows Allie and Dehgoies Revik, a dangerous seer infiltrator with a long history on the wrong side of the conflict. Their relationship is one of the engines of the books, but this is not a tidy romance series dressed up in fantasy clothes. It is a sprawling psychic war story with prophecies, betrayals, factions within factions, and a world that seems to be sliding toward apocalypse whether anyone is ready or not.

One of the strongest things about Bridge and Sword is scale. The books move across cities, continents, and time periods, and they are interested in systems as much as individuals. Governments use seers. Rebel groups use seers. Seers use each other. People lie for ideology, for survival, for love, and often for all three at once. By the time Allie understands what it means that some people believe she is the Bridge, a holy figure tied to the future of both races, she is already far too deep in the machinery to walk away.

Revik matters just as much. He is protector, captor, ally, problem, and sometimes outright threat, often in the same book. Their bond gives the series emotional weight, but the wider cast is important too. Friends, rebels, religious figures, spies, and rivals all keep pushing the story outward.

The tone is gritty and often dark, but there is a lot of heart in it, too. If you like your fantasy and science fiction messy, political, emotionally intense, and full of people making impossible choices, this is probably the right series.

Start at the beginning and expect the world to keep getting bigger.
