Blood Borne Books in Order

Blood Borne is Shannon Mayer’s coauthored supernatural suspense series with D.G. Swank. It pairs two kinds of investigation: a vampire hunter who becomes the thing she hates, and a reporter trying to understand the grisly murders spreading through New York City.

The setup gives the series its tension. One heroine knows the supernatural world from the hunting side, but turning into a vampire changes every rule she trusted. Blood Borne has more of a thriller feel than some of Mayer’s other fantasy series. The city setting, murder trail, and investigative momentum make the supernatural danger feel immediate. Romance and loyalty are present, but the central pull is the question of who is creating monsters, who is covering it up, and who will pay before the truth gets out.
