Series background & context

Black Dragons Inc. is a compact romantic-suspense series about people with military and intelligence backgrounds who are not willing to leave a dangerous problem alone. The stories lean into reunions, contested trust, and missions that become personal fast.

The first book, Out of Control, brings a former SEAL and a spy back together when an old threat forces them to work side by side. The second, Over the Top, follows former friends and lovers Gunner Vance and Chasten Reed as they try to protect an infant caught in the aftermath of a gunfight.

Nobody gets an easy assignment.

The series is built for readers who like road-trip danger, shifting loyalties, and couples whose history complicates every decision. The Black Dragons connection provides a useful umbrella for characters who know how to operate under pressure, but the emotional tension comes from what they have not said to each other for years.

These books keep the focus close to the central pair. The action can move from one location to another quickly, yet the question underneath remains simple: can two people who have been hurt, separated, or disappointed learn to trust again before the danger catches up with them?

Read Out of Control first, then Over the Top. Both offer complete romantic arcs, while the shared world and familiar faces make the second book more rewarding after the first.
