Series background & context

The Black Dragon Brotherhood is where Aidy Award leans harder into action-adventure without giving up the romance.

This series spins out of the dragon books, but it has its own identity. The brotherhood is an elite force of dragon shifters created to hold back darkness, especially the rise of shadow demons and the humans or witches willing to help them. These men are not lounging around waiting for fate. They are already in a fight, and love tends to arrive at the least convenient possible moment.

Convenient is overrated anyway.

In Tamed, Tangled, Twisted, and Tender, the books pair warrior dragons with women whose gifts, choices, or circumstances throw the mission off balance. Fire witches, brilliant outsiders, enemies turned mates, and even transformed familiars all end up pulled into the same larger battle. The series keeps the curvy heroine focus that readers expect from Aidy Award, but it also gives those women real weight in the plot. They are not just emotional prizes. They are often the reason the world has any chance at all.

The tone is slightly more intense than the early Dragons Love Curves books. There is still humor and heat, but the brotherhood stories are built around hard choices. Save the mate or save the world? Trust the woman marked as the enemy, or kill her before something worse breaks loose? Those are the kinds of problems these books like.

If you want a dragon romance series with a stronger military-team feel, more direct supernatural warfare, and a clear ongoing enemy, start here. It helps to know the larger world, but the books do a solid job of showing why these heroes matter and why falling in love only makes their jobs messier.
