Series background & context

The Bianucci Mafia books are Rae B Lake in full dark mafia mode. These stories run on secrecy, obsession, family control, and men who love in ways that are not always safe or easy to trust. If you are looking for soft crime romance, this is probably not the page. If you want hidden identities, possessive heroes, and relationships wrapped up in danger, this is much closer.

The series opens around the Bianucci family and the women caught in its orbit, sometimes protected, sometimes trapped, and often both at once. In Lies For My Good Girl, a woman learns that the man who has always kept her safe has also been lying to her about who he really is. In Bullet for My Good Girl, survival turns into a bargain with an assassin. In Tears For My Good Girl, love collides with family duty and forced marriage. Even when each book shifts to a different couple, the same larger system keeps pressing in from the edges.

That larger system is the point. The Bianuccis are not just background decoration. Their power shapes the choices everyone makes. Trust gets bent. Freedom comes with a price. Romance is intense because the characters are never standing on neutral ground. Someone is watching, someone is owed, and someone always has leverage.

These books like emotional mess.

Lake also writes the men in this series with a strong obsessive streak. They are not casual heroes drifting through a criminal backdrop. They are deeply tied to the family machine, which means even their tenderness can come with control, entitlement, or danger. That gives the series a very specific feel. The appeal is not just whether two people fall in love, it is whether that love can survive what the mafia asks of them.

If you are starting fresh, go with Lies For My Good Girl. If you like the blend of possessiveness, suspense, and emotional chaos there, the rest of the series follows naturally.
