Series background & context

The Bellandi Crime Syndicate books all live in the same mafia world, but they do not work like a single-couple saga. Each main novel follows a different romance and a different man tied to the Bellandi orbit. That means you get a fresh pair in every book, while the family politics, rivalries, and old debts keep building in the background.

The first thing to expect is danger. Bank robberies, forced proximity, secret marriages, kidnappings, territory disputes, and revenge plots are normal here. These are not polished mob dramas about strategy alone. They are dark romances about what happens when powerful, controlling men decide one woman is theirs and refuse to back down.

The series starts with Matteo and Ivory in Bloodied Hands, then widens through Angelino and Samara, Ryker and Calla, Lorenzo and Sadie, Scar and Irina, and later Yavin and Aoife. Some heroines know exactly how brutal this world can be. Others are pulled into it against their will. Either way, the Bellandi name changes the stakes the moment it enters the room.

Family loyalty matters as much as the romance. Side characters reappear, enemies carry from book to book, and one couple's pain can easily spill into the next story. That is why the books are often called standalones, but still feel stronger in order. You can jump in anywhere, but reading straight through makes the betrayals, alliances, and cross-book tension hit harder.

Tone matters here. The Bellandis are written as antiheroes, not good men with rough jobs. The books lean hard into obsession, possession, and the cost of protection. If that sounds like your kind of dark mafia romance, this series is one of Adelaide Forrest's clearest examples of how she builds a whole emotional world around fear, loyalty, and need.
