Bad Love Books in Order

Bad Love is a connected new adult romance series set in River's Edge, where everybody seems to know everybody, and nobody gets to outlive a bad decision quickly. Each book follows a different couple, but the real fun is watching the town knit the stories together.

The series begins with Bad Habit, which centers on Briar Vale and Asher Kelley. Their setup is classic Charleigh Rose: years of built-up tension, an off-limits attraction, and a return that reopens old hurt. Asher is Briar's brother's best friend, older, troubled, and exactly the kind of person she knows she should stay away from. That push between history and desire sets the tone for the whole series.

River's Edge does a lot of work here. In Bad Intentions, Logan comes to town hoping for a reset and a better life for her little brother, only to collide with Dare, the tattooed local who has spent years keeping his feelings locked down. In Bad Influence, Allison Parrish meets Jesse Shepherd, a former star athlete whose life has started to come apart. Different couple, same pressure cooker. The town keeps people close, memories closer, and reputations closest of all.

The tone is broody, sexy, and very character-first. These books are about chemistry, but they are also about baggage. Rose gives her leads real mess to work through: family strain, grief, guilt, bad timing, shame, and the fear that wanting someone might blow up the fragile version of life they have managed to hold together. Her heroines tend to be tougher than people expect, and her heroes usually need a lot of prying open.

The series also has a strong friendship thread. Side characters do not just pop in for a scene and disappear. They keep showing up, offering backup, bad advice, comic relief, and sometimes the next romantic setup. That makes River's Edge feel lived in. By the time you get from Bad Habit to Bad Influence, you are not just following couples. You are following a full social circle, with all the loyalty, gossip, and overlap that comes with it. The novella Guys Like You fits neatly into that larger world too, picking up with Halston and lacrosse player Zach Sullivan, better known as Sully.

That connected-cast structure is a big part of the appeal. You can read the books one at a time, but they work best in order because each story adds weight to the next. If you like romances with rough edges, strong attraction, and a setting that keeps throwing people back into one another's orbit, Bad Love does exactly what the title promises. It is messy, emotional, and very hard to quit.
