Andrew Watts is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and his writing life grew out of a decade in uniform. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2003 and spent the next ten years as a naval officer and helicopter pilot. He did not come to writing through an academic workshop circuit.

Another side of his work shows up in the Max Fend books, beginning with Glidepath, where aerospace tech, sabotage, and espionage collide. Then there is Firewall and the later Firewall Spies novels, which move into AI, cyberattacks, private tech empires, and covert operations. His settings jump from aircraft carriers and jungle bases to tech conferences and luxury air races, but the pattern stays consistent: a strong hook, a clear operational problem, and somebody who has to think fast before the damage spreads.

Today, he lives with his family in Virginia.
