Series background & context

The A Lord's Kiss books all grow from the same delightfully simple Regency problem: one kiss can change everything.

In these short romances, kisses are not casual. They are first kisses, rumored kisses, forgotten kisses, and deceptive kisses. Each one threatens a woman's reputation or forces her to see a man differently. Last Chance for a Lord pairs a longtime affection with a notorious rake. To Know a Lord's Kiss turns gossip about a supposed embrace into a crisis for a woman who desperately needs a husband. A Lord's Dream looks back to a kiss the hero barely remembers, while Deceived by a Lord asks what happens when a charming rescuer may be too perfect to trust.

Because the books are brief, Hanford keeps the focus tight. A young woman wants love, security, or simply a fair chance. One man, or one rumor, makes that far more complicated. The setting is still the marriage market, with mothers, seasons, titles, and public opinion pressing in from all sides.

What gives the series its charm is the way the same romantic symbol keeps changing meaning. A kiss can be hope, scandal, memory, temptation, or an outright lie. These are quick reads, but they understand how much power a small social moment could carry in a Regency world.
