Wraith (Angel Lawson) Books in Order

The Wraith books are early Angel Lawson, and you can see the roots of a lot of her later interests here. Jane Watts wants something very simple, to blend in. That would already be hard after an abrupt move and a new school, but Jane has a bigger problem than ordinary teen awkwardness. She can see ghosts. In Wraith, that means her closest companion is Evan, a dead boy who may not be telling her the whole truth.

Then Connor shows up and sees him too.

That twist gives the series its shape. Connor understands more about restless spirits than Jane does, and his arrival pushes the story from lonely paranormal mystery into something more active and dangerous. The books keep balancing school life, romance, and ghostly investigation, while Jane slowly learns what her gift can do and what it will cost her to use it.

By Shadow Bound and Grave Possession, the series is less about one haunting and more about the ongoing burden of living half in the ordinary world and half in the one spirits refuse to leave. If you want young adult paranormal fiction with a ghost best friend and a heroine growing into strange power, Wraith is a solid early series to pick up.
