Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku Manga arcs and chapters

The English books are extra-long omnibus collections that combine pairs of the original Japanese volumes; read the collections in numbered order.

  1. Collection 1

    Volume 1

The opening omnibus collection introduces Narumi and Hirotaka’s workplace reunion, their unusual new relationship, and the affectionate overlap between office life and otaku hobbies.

  2. Collection 2

    Volume 2

The second omnibus collection follows the couples through dates, gaming, and fandom-centered social events while giving greater attention to the group’s contrasting approaches to romance.

  3. Collection 3

    Volume 3

This collection continues the workplace ensemble comedy, balancing Narumi and Hirotaka’s growing comfort with relationship developments involving their friends and fellow fans.

  4. Collection 4

    Volume 4

The fourth omnibus collection centers on shifting dynamics among the established couples, using everyday misunderstandings, shared interests, and supportive friendships to move the ensemble forward.

  5. Collection 5

    Volume 5

The fifth omnibus collection continues the interconnected adult-romance stories, bringing its otaku workplace cast into later relationship milestones without separating the material into formal story arcs.

Series overview

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku Manga synopsis

Office worker Narumi Momose tries to conceal her fujoshi hobbies after past relationships ended badly. At a new job, childhood friend and devoted gamer Hirotaka Nifuji recognizes her immediately—and suggests they date rather than keep pretending. Their relationship, alongside fellow otaku coworkers Hanako and Kabakura, turns fandom, gaming, cosplay, and adult romance into affectionate everyday comedy.
