Series background & context

The Wolfe Brothers series takes readers back to Blueball, California, where family obligations and small-town life create unexpected second chances. The Wolfe brothers return home because of a request from their father, and each has to figure out what home, work, and love might look like once the old plan no longer fits.

The series opens with A Package Deal. Warrick Wolfe is a retired millionaire who has come back to Blueball and hired contractor Emmerleigh Slaywright to renovate his mother's home. Emmerleigh is a determined single mother trying to protect her daughter while facing a custody dispute with her ex.

When Warrick offers a temporary marriage to help Emmerleigh's case, their practical solution becomes much more complicated. He has spent years doubting whether anyone could want him apart from his money. She has learned not to depend on a man who might disappear. Their fake marriage asks both of them to reconsider those defenses.

An Ex Affair follows another Wolfe brother, who returns home to join the local fire department and runs straight into his former wife, Tully. Their history has lasted nearly two decades, and working together to save the fire station means neither of them can keep avoiding what went wrong.

Blueball remains a central part of the series. The town's farms, businesses, fire department, family homes, and well-meaning locals make every romance feel connected to a larger community. Readers of the Blueball Band of Brothers books will recognize the setting, though the Wolfe Brothers books are easy to begin on their own.

The tone is funny, tender, and grounded in adult complications. Single parenting, divorce, money, family illness, and old resentment all matter, but the books leave room for jokes, animals, and the chaos of people falling in love when they did not mean to.

Start with A Package Deal. It introduces the Wolfe family, the Blueball setting, and the homecoming theme that connects the series.
