Series background & context
The Willow Tree Hall series is built around a grand but fading country house in the village of Cranley. Willow Tree Hall belongs to the Earl of Cranley’s family, but it is not a polished show home. It is a place with repairs to make, bills to worry about, and people who care about it more than they always admit.
At the center are Arthur, the Earl of Cranley, his lively sister Rose, and the younger generation who must decide what the Hall means to them. Love Begins At Willow Tree Hall / A House to Mend a Broken Heart starts with Annie, the housekeeper who loves the place, and Sam Harris, the reluctant heir who comes back when Arthur is in hospital. Sam does not want the title, the estate, or the responsibility. Annie sees what he cannot yet see: the Hall is a home worth saving.
The house has a habit of catching people when they fall.
In Escape to the Country / Summer Secrets at Willow Tree Hall, journalist Eleanor McCartney returns to Cranley after her glamorous London life collapses. At the same time, singer Tom Kingsley arrives at the estate’s recording studio, burnt out and hiding from the press. Eleanor thinks Tom could be her way back into the job she lost, but the Hall makes betrayal feel less simple than it once did.
A Winter Wedding at Willow Tree Hall brings in Skye Jackson, who is homeless and traveling with a classic Airstream trailer after heartbreak. A surprise inheritance gives her half of a rundown lodge on the estate. The other half belongs to Will Harris, Sam’s brother, who is hiding from a tabloid scandal. Their renovation project turns into something bigger when a storm threatens a Christmas wedding.
The fourth book, Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall, follows Lily Harper, an events organizer whose job and engagement both fall apart. She comes back to her childhood village and becomes live-in housekeeper at the Hall, then has to organize the summer fete. The catch is Jack Carter, the old flame who once broke her heart.
The series mixes country-house romance, renovation, family duty, and second chances. It is gentle in tone, with a lot of affection for older relatives, village events, and people who think they are only passing through. Willow Tree Hall is the anchor. Everyone else is figuring out whether they belong there.
