Series background & context

Whiskey Kisses is a small-town romance series with a Texas distillery at its center. The first book, Sexy Stranger, begins when Charlotte Freemont ends up stranded in a sleepy town and immediately clashes with Luke Wilder, the rude, good-looking stranger who knows she does not belong there.

That stranded-city-girl setup gives the book a sharp enemies-to-lovers start. Charlotte plans to leave as soon as her car is fixed, and Luke has every reason to think she is temporary trouble. The longer she stays, the more the town, the distillery, and Luke himself make that plan harder to believe.

The novella Hunky Heartbreaker keeps the focus on the Wilder family business. Duke Wilder runs the whiskey distillery with his twin brother, and life looks full from the outside: success, money, and family. Then Valentina arrives as the attorney hired to help with a legal mess, and her temporary role becomes anything but simple.

Pour the whiskey, add forced proximity, and let pride do the rest.

The series is best for readers who like small-town heat, family businesses, and opposites who irritate each other before they admit the attraction. It is lighter and more playful than Ryan's darker billionaire books, but it still uses her favorite emotional pattern: a person who plans to move on meets someone who makes staying feel dangerous.
