Victorian Fairy Tale Books in Order

There is suspense in the background, and the museum world, old artifacts, and questions of motive give the story extra movement.

Reckless picks up one thread from the first book and opens it into a wider adventure. Kat Adair pushes her way into the lives of scholars and nobles, then ends up on an expedition to Egypt with Hunter MacDonald keeping a watchful eye on her. The tone gets bigger here, with ships, deserts, tombs, and a romance that grows under pressure instead of polite supervision.

Then Beguiled goes straight for the storybook nerve.

Ally Grayson dreams of writing adventures, only to find herself kidnapped by a highwayman and trapped in a tangle of lies, murder, and attraction. That last book makes the series label make the most sense. It plays with the idea of a heroine who thinks she understands how romantic tales work, then has to deal with a version that is messier, riskier, and much harder to control.

What links all three books is their taste for heightened situations. These are historical romances, but they are rarely content to stay quiet. One leans Gothic, one becomes archaeological adventure, and one turns into a masked-rogue mystery. The men are not safe, simple choices. The women are curious, stubborn, and often in over their heads for at least part of the journey.

Read them in order, starting with Wicked. The trilogy is not rigidly serialized, but character connections carry over, and the later books are richer when you already know the emotional history and side characters moving through them. If you like historical romance with mystery, travel, and a little storybook mischief, this series is a good fit.
