This is a series about the ones who do not arrive expecting forever to be easy.

The supernatural can be huge and dramatic, but it can also crash into everyday life while you are trying to buy practical things. The men circling Harper are not all bears either, which gives the spin-off a broader shifter mix and makes the world feel more open than a single-species pack story.

What makes this branch appealing is the balance between reluctance and certainty. Harper does not want forever. Fate does not care. The story tension comes from whether a woman with good reasons to keep running can be convinced that being chosen is not the same thing as being trapped.
